], using 24/96 or higher doesn't make much sense at all since the analog components in our systems (and ears) can't make any use of the increased dynamic range or frequencies. That's especially true looking at the monstrous HF roll-off off many good headphones. I've downloaded a few albums from HD tracks, and while they do sound fantastic, I re-sampled them down to 16/44 and they sound the same on a Benchmark DAC1.
Question for HR - does the Desktop Ultra DAC handle 24/96 over USB? I noticed the existing HR DACs do not.
