REVIEW: ACS custom tips + SENNHEISER IE8 - Page 5

ACS just received my impressions today; I just e-mailed them about payment, to remind them one more time I want over-the-ear wires, and to ask them if they offer canal-only as an option.

Well. There a list of 3 things to remind ACS before ordering:

1. Over the ear
2. Widest Bore soundtunnel
3. Tip over body/ Tip only.

as long as the bore is close to the nozzle diameter( like mine), they should be fine.

no problem.

I actually meant the soundtunnel bore should be similar to
the ID(inside diameter) of the nozzle.

so Ed, do they offer canal-only?

just got back from the audiologist. he says my right ear is strange because there is just bone(!?!) after the second bend. had a bit of an interesting conversation with him as my german sucks and his english was only mildly better. here's a pic of my impressions just for curiosity sake:

I only see a slight first bend from that picture and angle.

But nice colour combo. closed mouth?
he asked me to wiggle my jaw for each impression.
didn't take a pic from the other angle cause i'm embarrassed about my ear wax.

I asked them exactly like this:

I was wondering if there is a choice of canal-only versus full-body? Or do you only offer full-body?

Thank you!

The sleeves come canal as standard, do you wish to have a full shell?

I guess we shall find out, when I finally get them on or around the 17th, exactly what ACS considers canal. They let me know that the 17th was the best they could do; this e-mail exchange was yesterday.

i've never taken impressions before: is that sponge on top of the impressions or...?

The foam is to block the silicon for ear impression going further into your ear canal.

What does that mean? LOL

come canal as standard?
That little spongy ball thing is at the end of the wire; they push the spongy ball thing into the ear canal as deep as it can go almost to protect the eardrums from when the foam is being injected; the string attached to the spongy ball thing, when pulled, helps extract the mold once set without allowing it to stretch or tear.

That was basically my confused thought...all the sets I've seen were like, full shell, as far as I could tell, so...who knows.

You might want to show her a picture of a canal only custom tip ,ie. um56.

I have been communicating with her for the past month or so. There service is kind of awkward.
Awkward is a good word for it.

Honestly, I'd rather they just make the things the way they know best...if I asked them to try something different than the norm, they may fudge the whole thing up entirely, and being they're in another continent, I rather not mess with success.
