Can I make a V-bulletin style request? "Search titles only" option

Over that the Steve Hoffman forum I notice that when you hit the search button, in the first little pop-up window there's check option for "search titles only". It always drives me crazy when I do searches here that I first have to open an "advanced search" page to get to that option. I'm always searching, and I would love for the "search title only" option to be available here on the first click. I might have saved a week of my life over the last 8 years at Head-fi not having had to wait the 5 seconds for that damned advanced search page to load.

x2 this. Most of the time I only search in thread titles.

Also, can you edit includes/searchwords.php and remove "zero" from the excluded list, as it's a HUGE pain, there being a DAC with that name which we have to use Google to search for.

chadbang: I'll put it on the to-do list, but I can't give a timeframe, as it's a rather long list of to-do's. Thanks for the suggestion.

Currawong: I'll take a look at that. In the interim, if you do a search with zero in quotes ("zero"), it will yield results. Again, this one goes into the to-do list. Thanks for that suggestion.

For now, one thing that could cut a second or more off the advanced search is to set it to search titles in advanced search, and then save the preference.

If I'm doing my math right, this will save a day or more of your life (relative to not setting the preference) if it takes me another eight years to implement the suggested change. If you already have that preference set, then disregard this message.

Change the user information back to the left as well.

Yeah, that would be great!
I search thread titles all the time, and have been missing this option.

Jude, I'd like to make my request again. I just feel that our search pop up window is needlessly cluttered. Here's headfi's

"Search blogs, search google, tag search"?

Here's v-bulletin at the "other" web site:

I LOVE the title only search option.

As a Christmas present, Jude?

As a gift for your 5000th post, maybe.

Okay, okay, it's done. Look up.

Cheers Jude, always found that function handy on the SH forums.
