iBasso T4 vs P3 Heron vs Practical XM4/5

For exclusive use through a Sansa Fuze... I listen to a lot of rock and my headphones (RE2) have a pretty aggressive rock signature. I do listen to a good bit of jazz, electronica, and downtempo as well. Size isn't too much of a factor. However, since the amp section of the T4 is > the D2, where does that place the P3 on the food chain? Also, as far as I'm concerned, I don't need buffer, DAC, or any of the other features found on the XM5. A recent email from PD told me that their amp sections are very, very, very similar. So you could say T4 vs P3 vs XM5. Thanks.

Are you not satisfied with your FiiO with the RE2?

To my ears P3 in stock form is better than T4. P3 is less congested, but has a high mid bump that sound somewhat out of place. Of course P3 can sound different with different opamps, and possibly better.

Btw, bear in mind that some of what you are reading on the net are opinions, instead of hard facts. The "food chain" that you are talking about is not absolute, comments such as "amp A is better than amp B" or "amp B sounds the same as amp C" does not necessarily apply to everyone. Unfortunately, you have to hear them for yourself to find out.
