Which open cans are liquid?

HD650's indeed are said to be very liquid sounding. Smooth, rich, well, I didn't like them much so I might be biased. Warmness in cans is sometimes hard to find, I have to admit, and so, those HD650's are the ones I'd recommend.

With your amp, and the description of rich and liquid sound that you are looking for, I would definitely suggest you look at the HD650 or HD600. I think there are at least 2 other members on the forum using this setup, perhaps you can check their listening impressions.

I'd say the HP-2 and HD650 are both more liquid sounding than the K-1000s.

Between the two, I'd give a slight edge to the HP-2s for being a bit more so.

While it's a bit too much on the liquid side for my taste, I'd say the ultimate phone for with that dripping wet sound would be the PS-1. The HP-2/PS-1 would be closer to the sound of your Ed 9 in that respect than the HD650s IMO

I'd throw the RS1 into the ring there. It's one of the smoothest headphones I've ever heard, yet it has phenomenal texture.

I believe your RS1 is a vintage model?

I'd also go with the HD-650 for that liquid sound. Though grab a HP-1/2/3 if you can afford and find one; those are amazing with a good tube amp. I don't know how they'd synergize with your amp, but the Beyerdynamic DT880 turns liquid on the Zana Deux. Maybe you'd get the same effect on your 300Bs. Worth trying, since it sounds gorgeous.

What do you mean by "liquid sounding" that every note goes "squish squish"?

The HD650 is the most liquid-like / smoothest sounding headphones that I have ever owned or used. I used it from a cheap sound card, vintage receiver, and a couple inexpensive portable amps.

I think regardless of age, even the newer RS1s I've heard still have a very high degree of smoothness compared to other headphones.

If the HD650 were a singer, that singer would be Bing Crosby, whose singing voice / style was very smooth sounding and liquid-like as compared to many other voices / styles.

The RS-2's are on the liquidy side

There is no veil in my opinion... but of course this is highly debatable.

Anyway, my HD650s are very liquid-sounding.
