DIYmod + corda 3move + esw10jpn =

Such a difference over anything portable I've heard.. even with the essence stx, I thought the ESW10JPN were a little slow for some fast death metal.. some amon amarth songs just felt a bit slower then they should or as I remember them through speakers...

but man.. through the imod and this amp they are not slow at all! detaill, speed, prat, you name it, its got it. AND IT FITS IN MY HAND!

thanks goes out to qusp for making this possible..

blows the cowon d2 out of the water.. anyone in canada want to buy a cowon d2? With a 120gb HD I have in here, I have no need for expansion in the ... ever

nice one man now this is what I like to find while trawling the forums the silver hookup in DIYMOD does add some speed IMO sounds like you've got quite the combo going there. the 3 move intrigues me actually

The crossfeed switch is one thing I really like (and skylab rates it highly too) .. I mostly listen to it off for actively listening, but if I'm doing something else while listening to music, I like to turn it on, it helps a lot with lessening fatigue

I know the pico is rated higher, but the 3move is a dac+amp+crossfeed for half the cost of the pico amp+dac so.. can't have it all

now onto the next hard part.. finding a small case for this so I can hopefully wear it on my belt .. I tried the headroom gigabag but its made for a DAC+AMP combo that connects with regular mini-to-mini.. not this awesome 18g (or 22?) jena beast

as a bonus, the whole package fits in my AT-HPP5 case (AudioCubes.com - Audio-Technica AT-HPP5 Headphone Case - AT-HPP5 -)

not for actively listening sure but great for transportation

yeah I use the rockbox crossfeed with IEM's and live and/or accoustic music; also some ambient and lounge style

the hippocase ampsack from jaben is what you want. email them to order. you'll have to tell them what amp and dap etc. as they come in a few different sizes. and the LOD is 18AWG jena with 19AWG silver.

did you find a headphone case the right size for your ill-fated MD2000?? need one for mine

oh no no.. that case is strictly for the foldable AT cans.. ESW9, ESW10JPN and the other ones it lists.. when closed, the whole thing is 3 inches thick or so

I didn't know about crossfeed until I read this. Although admittedly I've only had rockbox about a week now. How do you like the crossfeed on rockbox? At least to my ears listening through the headphone out with Grado SR-80 the sound seems to be altered a lot. I lose a bunch of detail in the highs and the bass sounds... I think muddled is the right term. I might try this again in the few instances I use my sf5p, nowadays I use my SR-80 most, but I was just wondering if it's me noticing degraded sound with the crossfeed.

well thats pretty OT, but I guess i'll indulge you; hope Bonjamijams doesnt mind

depends on all sorts of variables whether it will work with a certain combination of gear. for starters with the grados I wouldnt bother, as they are already an open HP (kind-of), so soundstage shouldnt be lacking. but otherwise it really needs to be used judiciously. a custom setting will need to be generated for each different headphone you want to use with it. and some styles of music it wont work with no matter what headphone you are using. but for headphones that lack soundstage and music that goes well with a big stage it works quite nicely IMO. but certainly takes some tweaking to get it right

yeah yeah, but did you find one for your D2000? I realize they are 2 totally different size HP, but thought you may have come accross a decent case for the denons' I need one badly for the woodies)

also Bonjamijams: those caps in the LOD have zero burn-in; so you wait till a couple hundred hours in

Awesome! And is there a specific thread for this DIYMod application of iPod 5G.
I am also looking for this iMod and I am kind a pretty much DIY person.
Thanks for any input.

I haven't found a case for the D2000 but honestly I wasn't looking.. the pair was always going to be my 'home' pair so there was no need for a case for it.

Now that they're smashy-ed I think back and think it might've been a good idea to get a flight case and ship it in that only
