I am planning to buy some SR80i's when the local distributor gets them in stock in the next week or so (i figure i may as well experiance the grado sound, instead of getting MS1's - even if they are better value for money currently) - which i assume will not fit within the recessed jack of the iphone?
(my initial question was if there was a cord that could be purchased that would adapt from iphones small 3.5mm to 6.5mm socket - but i think i was just reading "Standard copper connecting cord mini plug with 1/4" adaptor" wrong as i didn't want to have heaps of useless adaptors)
I was previously using a Griffin SmartTalk Headphone Adapter, however it broke and i was able to get my money back as the shop was out of stock, so i figure now is the chance to upgrade to a LOD and a small amp such as an E5.
My question is are there any products/LOD/Amps out there that i just havent' stumbled across yet that incorporate the iphones headset "button" controls, or/and a microphone - while not nessacary, the e5 looks to be the perfect size to have halfway along the cord as a 'remote'
Also alot of the talk on here regarding iphone LOD's seems to b quite old - stating they are different to those of a normal ipod, where now there seems to be alot they say they do both? I would prefer one that i could also use on an ipod, unless there is an advantage to a dedicated iphone unit? While plugged in, are you able to make calls on the phone as per usual - just with the leads hanging off the bottom, or does it need to b removed?
