Newbie ALERT!

Hi guys,

I am thinking of buying a FIIO e3.
I am not sure whether this thing could transform my music.
I am currently contented with my a4tech mk-510 and zen stone plus.
but i am considering pairing it with the fiio e3.

I was just wondering what exactly does a headphone amp do?
Any experiences with the amp.
Should I get one?

for the fraction more money get the FiiO E5 instead

IMO your headphone would benefit just a bit if any from the e3. Upgrading your headphone would be a better idea i think

I've seen E3s as low as $5 shipped, so the E5 is 5 times more. Unless you need the tinyness, $25 is better spent on a cmoy. Also, the number of reported E5 failures seems quite high.
