Pads as a modification for the JVC HARX900

Maybe we should concentrate on changing the pads as a modification. I switched with the Panasonic 770and the 900. Now the 900s reminded me of the ad500&700, lots of high end, some forwarded midrange and much less bass. It would be interesting, so members should post their results

tried 900 pads on 700. darken the sound significantly, more bassy (midbass), lose a lot of high end. my 700 has been modded with dynamat and stuffing (in cup) + felt removal.

Thanks for the reply,Keep'em comin

I read your post. I tried it,you are right about the sound. I do believe with enough people switching pads,we will find the best one to bring out the best in the 900s.

I did a little more listen with the 770 pads. Now the response is totally reversed. you can hear the bass but with far less impact. I will try foam with different densities.

Best mod for the RX900 is to switch out the RX900 and replace it with the RX700.

Right,it's better but I really believe there is a pad out there. One that will bring the 900s up a few notches.

If I remember correctly, a few member used beyerdynamics pad Please post your opinions!
