FT(IC): Sony Discman D-311 PCDP + Vampire Wire Mini to RCA Cable

Hi,

I have been thinking about this for a while, and I have decided that I really want to try a full sized CD (or other formats +CD) player; to see how good it does perform with my rig. Unfortunately, since my economy isn't going so good right now, it means that I need to let go my beloved Discman D-311.

So, after that little intro, up for grabs is a Discman D-311 in great shape, but not even close to "like new" condition. The front cover has some not so noticeable scratches, but there is a big one, altough it's not so ugly. The LCD screen cover has a few blemishes too, but nothing too bad. Below the unit, ithere are a bit more of scratches too, and has also four rubber feets installed.

It doesn't come with the internal battery (you can get one at ALO), but it does come with the 2AA battery pack, so you can use it on the go; however, that's not a great idea if jogging is your think, as it tends to skip if moved too much, but it may be good if you are listening to it without moving the unit so much. No power cord is included (the power cord that came with my PSP worked with it).

The player is a bit picky with CD's, as many vintage player tends to be, but only when using backups (and when a disc has many scractches). Everything else is great.

The headphone out is quite good and powerful, but I was never able to try it with hard to drive cans. The Line Out is great; I don't know how it stands against other players, but I do prefer it by a large margin to other players that I owned (iPod Touch 1G, Cowon D2, Sansa e280, iBasso D2 Viper's DAC with rolled opamps), and it sounds great when feeding my EF1. Soundstage is really good, as well as bass and detail. Everything that I tried with it sounded great.

The Vampire Wire cable is 20 cm long with Switcraft plugs at all ends. It uses 2 strands of Vampire copper wire for each channel. It sounds very good.

I am searching for a good full sized CD player (if possible with a small footprint), to put at my bedside table. I have my eye on NAD's C525BEE, Sony's DVP S9000, or maybe a Marantz or Tascam's player. Other offers are welcome (the only requirement is RCA output). I'll add or ask for money depending on the offer.

Also, if you are interested in making a money offer, just shoot me a PM. I would prefer not to sell them apart.

Hope to see your offer soon.

Have a great day.

Cheers.

Bump, wanted to try a new player before my surgery on march 30th, but I guess that it will be hard to achieve that now
