Adding ERS Papered Genesis XLR interconnect gives better sound?

I use two 1meter Valhalla between K1000 and T-Amp. The Valhalla is wrapped in ERS Paper. I added 2meters nude Genesis between them to make the total length 4meters. I got worse sound, the low-levels were removed, however, it sounded a little heavier but the bass was boomy and annoying. I removed the Genesis.

I tried the Genesis again, I added it between both Valhalla cables, but this time I also wrapped the Genesis in ERS Paper. I got better sound overall, low-level details are the same but it sounds very full and strong, bass is CRAZY deep! It makes my stomach vibrate!

Can anyone confirm my findings?

Yes, absolutely. What you think happened is exactly what you think happened.

how is 2+1 = 4?

I use two 1meter Valhalla, total 2meter Valhalla. I used to have both Valhallas twisted together, then I added Neutrik silver XLR connectors to daisy chain them together, I was surprised that the reduction in quality was very small, the Neutrik silver connectors are very good!

After this I could easily daisy chain the Genesis between both Valhallas. The Genesis has magnets which amplifies the signal.

.

good to know.

Isn't the ERS paper supposed to be out of production pretty soon?

oh, didn't catch that you were counting total length of cable, not length between hp's and amplifier

I think it's easier to say that I use 2meters Valhalla between headphones and amp, and I have cut the 2meter Valhalla in half. Then I put Genesis in between the cut pieces. T-Amp + 1m Valhalla + 2m Genesis + 1m Valhalla + K1000.

I get better sound with the Genesis added between the Valhallas. But only if the Genesis is wrapped in ERS Paper, otherwise it makes it worse because it becomes an antenna for EMI/RFI.

pat, I thought the T-Amp made a bad driver for the K1000, something about overheating due to the resistance?

Isn't that a good thing? It keeps them warmer. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/k10...n-real-186916/

interesting, what I had heard is that the amplifier simply dies a thermal death with something like the K1000, but hey, if its still going 3-ish years later, and your ears are happy, keep on truckin

Whats with all the cable tweak threads polluting the high end forum? Thats what the cables and tweaks section is for.

A T Amp is not high end. An Emu 0404 is not high end.

I posted my Genesis power cable thread in the cables forum and it was moved here. I'm confused, where will I post?

I noticed that too, I'm guessing your cables meet the criteria for high end, purely because they're expensive? even though they're cables, and you're tweaking them?

and yes I heard him about the t-amp, I was just recalling (apparently incorrect) information about the T-amp not being able to drive the K1000's (as in the device would fail), so its interesting to know that it works, would be very interesting to hear it, alas, I have no K1000
