Has anyone heard the DA11? If so, please give me your review. Thanks.

I'd be interested to know if the DA11 sounds different at all to the DA10. The DA10 was rather cold and analytical, and a bit too digital for my tastes, as typical of pro-audio gear, but worked well in some situations.

And here I thought DAC 1 was warm and extended....just goes to show how we hear things differently.

Thanks for the info. I was half thinking the same thing. However, not having heard either the DA10 nor the DA11, I did not want to make any assumptions.

Sorry, not familiar with the DAC 1. Is that discontinued? I think its important to recognize that these may all be different in that they may sound significantly different than one another as opposed to sounding similar with sonic refinements in the more expensive models.

I think he meant to type "DAC10" but a slip of the keys missed the 0. Now the Benchmark DAC1 is a DAC too, a really nice one. I know it gets confusing with manufacturers using the acronym "DAC" and adding numbers after it..

Thanks so much for all of your input. My current DAC does 16 bit very well. However, I would like to find one that does 24 bit on the same level. Unfortunately, I am not as free to spend as I was when I bought my previous DAC.

Not sure how the Benchmark DAC1 got brought up (by accident?), Currawong was talking about the Lavry DA11 and its predecessor the DA10. But since you're interested in it now, FWIW I found the Benchmark to be pretty analytical; I've heard neither of the Lavrys. Jude posted his initial impressions of the Lavry DA11 here, and said he'll post more impressions in a bit

I've been in the process of writing up a review for the DA11 for the last 2 weeks - if anyone has a particular setup or demo they want me to pass it through, please let me know - otherwise I plan to finish up by the end of the holiday weekend.

Any word on your review of the DA11?
Thanks!
