sorry for the post

amm as much as I want one, I don't have the money for it (right now) and I want to hear more people reviews about it, so I will wait a month or two or more before ordering, and who knows maybe there will even be some upgrades.

BTW
Why can't Justin make a USB DAC that will be able to get up to 24/96 and not only up to 16/48 like now ??

Because design he has is so good right now and since there was a demand for this he is providing it is the primary reason. There were many requests just for the DAC side of his original Pico.

Besides can one really tell the difference?

One more reason may be that he could do it but why bother given the above reasons.

He may be busy doing other projects instead of additional research on this item.

Who knows he may have exactly what you want in his head ready to be put down on paper and implemented.

If you've listened to the Pico amp/DAC using it as a DAC feeding another amp, there is no reason that I can see to wait for reviews. If you haven't used a Pico DAC then there are probably hundreds of positive reviews/comments to read. The reviews are already in for this IMO...it sounds excellent. At this price I will highly recommend.

Re any upgrades, as slwiser comments, could you hear a difference? I doubt that I could since I hear no improvement with 2 CH SACD over CD for instance... improved noise floor, extended linear frequency response and all that jazz.

I do hear different!
And it is not the problem if I am haring or not, I have FLAC files with 24/96, and doing downsample isn't good! it really reduce SQ.

How many 24/96 files do you have. I have several and mine play very well with the Pico Amp/Dac. My music player, J-River Media, is set to feed the USB stream the source bit depth and hardware direct out of Direct Sound, so I don't know where any down-sampling is taking place, if it actually is being down sampled. Of course everything is upsampled by the Pico DAC to 24/96.

IIRC, I believe a special driver is needed to do 24/96 using USB and it requires licensing fee. In that case the price of Pico will increasing significantly.

I have the PICO, I really love it!
I just wished the DAC could have been better, cause buying something I already have isn't nice (even thought it is a great product!!)
24/96 input could be very nice

This is about as good a deal as you're going to see for something like this. I haven't asked Justin directly, but I have not heard anything about upgrades.

So after repeatedly posting in the other thread asking when the DAC only would be out--and being told exactly what to expect of the product and how it would sound--you're now complaining because it has been introduced for sale, at a discount, exactly as advertised.

What I mean to say, that it is like buying one more car of the same thing, it isn't a bad, but I always want even something that is like 1% better when going out for a new thing
I am sure you can understand me and my feelings (I hope so at least)
