Big Rev to HeadRoom Home Page - Page 5

Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting I think it's likely, but just trying to help tyll demonstrate to the suits that headroom is successful because it has personality, and they wouldn't be well served by a race to the bottom.

Just a quick observation. You guys have updated your listings and descriptions for the new "i" headphones from Grado, but still appear to be using the old photos.

Also it would be most helpful if you guys would re-score the new Grado units, and compare those scores to the old ones.... minute differences or not!

Thanks, CTechKid!

Our new Grado website photos will likely be a bit slow in coming; we're still awaiting shipments of most of the new Grado Labs "i" models as of this writing.

In terms of layout, I've realized that the pages have a fixed width in that the web page text line length will not adjust to fit the browser window. The width seems to be a lot too, certainly more than 1280 pixels.

A lot of websites are adopting this approach and I can't say that I like it.

Right now, The line length and font for product descriptions makes for difficult reading. It was a lot better before.

Agreed, it was definitely easier to read product descriptions before.

The fit and finish on this new revision needs quite a bit of work.

This page for example shows it up:

Great Headphones Under $50 - HeadRoom - Right Between Your Ears

That looks a bit all over the place to me.

Pretty cool

Another thing with the website.

The source is making my browser select UTF-8 as the charset. This isn't the optimum charset for viewing since many of the characters used in the text and specs information are not recognised and are replaced by 'duds'.

This is a capture of a page when loaded and the charset autoselected:

However, if I switch to Western ISO-8859-1, it looks fine as shown here:

Aha! someone need to check their web development- hopefully they did it by hand so this is just a bug not faulty web development in a WYSIWYG editor big no-no;). Anywho the fault bit is this line (on ALL pages - I've seen it all over the place):

Is anybody else have problems with the Headroom homepage rending incorrectly in Firefox? The drop down menus are appearing behind the front page graphic for me.

I'm running FF 3.0.8 for Mac and the dropdown menus are working fine on the homepage. Which FF version are you using?

The one complaint I have about the site is that the page formatting doesn't translate well to the printed page. Please consider offering either a "printer friendly" formatting option on the product pages or creating downloadable PDF data sheets for your products.

I want to thank you guys for posting here. Especially the troublesome comments.

Please keep them coming!

No, you won't see fixes right away, but we are looking at these comments and they are helpful. So, don't go away mad if you don't get comments back or see changes quickly. In fact, don't go away at all!

Thanks!
