In case anybody's interested: I got the Mini3 in the end, and I'm quite happy with it. It doesn't make such a big difference to the PA2V2 or unamped as I thought/hoped. But it does add a bit of punch an clarity (and of course volume) to my 580 and I really like listening to it!

The funny thing is that I hear a bigger difference between the PA2V2 and the Mini3 than between Mini3 and unamped (Iriver H140)...

This is really nice to know. I was considering the Juice when I couldnt get the Caffeine but then when I had the money the Caffeine was back on ebay again. I dont think I will bother upgrading my amp for a long time when I could be spending money on other sources or headphones.
