Dedicated waddragon/aobdragon/Lobster_king Flipping Awareness Thread

Thread Starter
I felt compelled to create a thread to educate and alert everyone, new and old, to our former famous Head-Fi Flipper extraordinaire waddragon/aobdragon/Lobster_king etc. (aka Tai from Berkeley, CA) so that people will avoid doing business with him in the future. His exploits seem to sometimes get overlooked in the other thread devoted to him, simply because the title doesn't draw enough attention.

That thread detailing his past behavior(which includes creating multiple Head-Fi usernames and having discussion with himself in order to inflate the value of the items he was looking to sell), courtesy of Larryminator, can be found here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f11/to...e-true-334469/

I want to thank everyone that has participated in that thread in the past and hope you will continue to help me out Tai's future flips, which are obviously constant and regular. I'm just sick and tired of him thinking he deserves to make $500-1000 profit on every item he picks up just by putting it on his credit card and holding on to it for 3-5 days after he receives it. It's as though he thinks he deserves to get paid for providing some kind of mythical middleman service.

Here is a direct link to his Audiogon profile so you can keep up with his flips there: AudiogoN Seller items: Lobster_king

Here is a direct link to his Ebay profile as well: eBay Seller: aobadragon: Electronics items on eBay.com

What really prompted the creation of this thread, other than his notorious reputation as a Head-Fi virus, is his most recent attempt at a flip. This afternoon he listed an L3000/DHA-3000 combo on ebay for his usual $1000 middleman profit. He purchased this here just last week for $3900 and now of course he feels as though deserves his transfer fee. But don't worry, he hasn't infiltrated Head-Fi again to my knowledge. He managed to purchase this combo from the selling Head-Fier by contacting him via his Audiogon profile.

Original Sale: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f10/so...3000-a-410969/

Here is his $3900 purchase at the bargain price of $4950 days later: Audio Technica ATH-L3000 headphone and ATH-DHA3000 amp - eBay (item 320346400837 end time Apr-01-09 22:35:00 PDT)

I will continue to update this thread each time he attempts to do this, and I would appreciate anyone's help should they find another one of his bargain flips in the future. I'm hoping this thread will serve as an awareness creator so that all head-fier's, current and future, will know not to sell their items to this plague from Berkeley. He mainly goes after higher end out of production items so please be forewarned.

Not everyone is on head-fi, so he will find buyers outwith this context. I think that trying to get people not to sell to the guy in the first place is the best goal, although how one might go about that I am uncertain. What is certain is that the guy is a contemptable little parasite.

Thanks for your efforts! You should be careful not to confuse "lobster_king" with "lobstersan" on Audiogon. Lobstersan is Craig who owns Kuboten and (as I'm sure many of you will agree) is very trustworthy.

One thing that continually surprises me about this waddragon is his willingness to take such risks. All it takes is one component to arrive to him broken and he'll be screwed....(hint hint)..

He'd just sell it on anyway and claim it was fine when it left him.

Not so long ago, people were flipping real estate like this.

Prices do not go up forever. Eventually, he will overpay for something and start to lose money.

The biggest problem from my point of view is not flipping... It's lying, getting multiple identities, begging to get a better price knowing you'll sell with a profit, and keep doing it even if everyone tells you it's a shame.

Aleluhia (spells like this?) to this thread. Nothing else to say and will enjoy, as usually, further discussion in this thread

hahaha in the auction he says no taxes or customs fees for international buyer.

I could buy them, received them, but as everyone knows, he'll have to underdeclare the value/insurance of the item for me not to get taxes or customs. So if there's no signature required, I could declare them Lost and I would put it on his fault saying he underdeclared/underinsured them without my consent He'll loose the money and will get problems with customs.

I hope no one buys his items in ebay

For sure! I bought my pair of HP-DX1000 from him. One of the most pleasant deals I have ever experienced. Craig is great.

...
Surely the similarity is not coincidental.
