Toronto Audiologist: Hearsafe Canada - Cheap and very good service

I was surprised when I had my impressions taken that a Canadian business would only charge 55$ and actually made arrangements to help me out as I don't have a car.

In any case, Brad Davidson is a class act, well deserving of his job and any fanfare.

I'll show you the fruit of his work in the next couple of weeks. He also sells an instant custom mould iem that is mostly geared toward motorcyclists. It is not an audiophile level design but is cheap (250), does not require an audiologist and is instant: you get the product right away. Soundcage is what it is called.

Whomever feels led, go buy it! haha.

Cheers

Hmm, I may consider getting a custom mold for my 530's soon. Thanks for the referral, I'll keep this in mind (though 'ssauga is bit out of the way for me since I'm in Markham).

I got my ear impressions done at a local audiologist in Hamilon, ON for $40 (both ears).

I know this is an old thread, but hopefully this post will help someone.

So far the most reasonable price I've found in the GTA for ear impressions is through Dr. Marshall Chasin @ the Musician's Clinic. He only asks $40, and from what I've read/heard, he's a very experienced audiologist.

Meanwhile, I'm about an hour away in Hamilton. I called around the Hamilton area (~15 audiologists or so) and was quoted upwards of $250 (!!!) just for impressions. At some of these places it was actually cheaper to buy their ear plugs (and accompanying impressions) rather than just the impressions themselves. Ridiculous. Finally, I found that the Canadian Hearing Society can make a set impressions for a very reasonable $50. I'm assuming this would be true of any of their branches across Ontario.

some more updates..

HEARSAFE CANADA is in the process of moving to Port Credit area, no ear molds until March.

Canadian Hearing Society Mississauga branch: The fee will be $60 -$80 per ear depending on what the impression is for.

Most audiologist I call around Mississauga/Brampton gave me a quote north of $150 to 240 for ear impression and keep telling me it depends on what I use it for.

So do I need to tell audiologist I need it for CIEM when I inquire about ear impression?

Even I had forgotten about this thread. 250$ is way too much, and it sounds as if Hearsafe, too, will raise their prices. Bugger.

This is where I end up going.

Hear Toronto (authorized dealer for both Weston & Sensaphonics)  They had a Weston CIEM inside their display case.

586 Eglinton Ave. E. Suite. 305

416.484.4327

They charge $50 for ear impression.  only few parking space at the back of the building($2.5 for 30 minutes), so arrive early in case you need to wait.

I actually also went to Hear Toronto (Ross) the first time I got customs but fit came out to be off and couldn't get a seal at all in my right ear.  For the refit, I went to another audiologist (Rhonda Martin) at HearForLife and she is now 3 for 3 for my 3 pairs of customs. Just another option for anyone looking for audiologists in the GTA. Make sure you ask for Rhonda; she has worked with many Canadian artists including Celine Dion, Nelly Furtado, Drake, Bryan Adams etc.

Great, thats what i need. A one shot audiologist for impressions. How much do they charge? I'm around that area too but never actually took the effort looking for the right place.
