hehe gotta love hypocrisy hey (guilty as charged) I must have read that in the lead up to their release and not from the website itself, because I was actually quoting from my notes. not making it up. been reseaching them for purchase.

Yep, its still quite a bit higher than W3s thats for sure, so an amp would probably really benefit it. Still I think this thread might be dead as voltage seems to have decided on the UE11s

Can't we all get along? i understand you have a problem (faulty) LOD from qusp but it does not mean all his/her buyer have any issues with his/her LOD. For me, buying a LOD from qusp is purely my choice and does not need someone to bring up his negative feedback or faulty LOD qusp made. That is what feedback threads for...

Back to OP's questions on best amp to drive ES3X or UE11. I spoke to a head-fier that own UE11 with RSA Mustang, Predator, and SR-11A, he said UE11 sounds the best with Predator.

If money is not an issue, I will go for UE11. Did you take a look a Pico? It maybe a better choice, as for RSA amp, I do like the Mustang the most out of Predator, Mustang, and Blackbird.

i can't pretend to know any better because i have neither the es3x nor the ue11s, but since one isnt definitively better than the other, than the es3x are a good 300usd cheaper

and if you're set on the rsa i liked the predator then blackbird and but i dont think the mustang was that good, although this was with the rs-1s/ livewires

$300 to be precise --> ES3X $850, UE-11 Pro $1,150

soooooo, back to the original question at hand.....does anybody have any definitive suggestions on amps to power either the es3x or the ue-11? (i am personally more interested in learning what can drive the es3x the best, since these seem to suit my personal tastes the closest)

In a related thread, headphoneus and digihead had such an excellent and informative exchange of details about these two sets of IEMs and i demand more of the same stuff, just in regards to amps and further upgrades.

i want to know what guys such as them (who own several or ALL of these super high end IEMs) have to say about their own personal rigs and what seemed to sound best.

Did one amp shine through with each these headphones, guys?

Did any users of either of these two sets pair it with an IMod and appropriate amp and notice even further gains? i seem to remember that digihead used this type of combo in his reviews...if you can call it a review....or rather complete loss of focus during extended and wonderful listening sessions

Also, let's try to steer away from speculation based on similarly branded product pairings. As was suggested, the W3 and TF10 are not quite similar enough to the es3x and ue-11, respectively, that we can use an amp that works well with them as a good recommendation for these latest offerings. a does not seem to equal c in this situation.....no transitive property of amp equality, boys and girls. i think it was even suggested that the W3 sounded nothing at all like the es3x.....anyway, you get the point here...especially headphoneus and digihead, what were your personal favorite amps or even overall system combos to power these IEMs??

p.s. has anybody paired either of these sets up with a minibox-E+?? just curious, as this amp seemed to get some pretty good reviews from a variety of users.

X2, I don't have ES3X or UE11 yet but I do agree with Westone 3, I prefer it with P51 over SR71A. Getting UE11 soon...

As far as ES3X price, it varies from 800 to 850.

that's the mustang no? yeah i've heard it, but to me it wasn't that fantastic, although it is no doubt a competent amp it just didnt have the smoothness or musicality of the pico, nor the bass extension of the predator, nor the soundstage of the sr71.

neither can any of us really, only a few out there. can only make educated guesses based on specs and other's opinions. I think i'll still be going ES3X over UE11 though., although UE10 is more of an alternative for me.
