just finish building this headamp.

class A amp with dc servo, good extension on both end, warm sounding with plenty of space between each instrument, good soundstage dept too. wima ,nichicon cap, holco resistor, gold plated pcb, lots of quality parts for very little money.

bought this from audiotek on ebay before they disappeared with load of people complaining about unreceived products on the diyaudio forum, they still own me over $40 usd of unreceived goods, but i guess this headamp kind of make up for my loss.

OK! Then I also show up my Virgo here. I am inspired also fully, about the sound this amplifier. I simply am over the moon with the VIRGO!!!

I bought this amp right before they shut down. I made a noob mistake and swapped Q17 and Q18 :/ Ordered some new ones and they should be here tomorrow or the next day and I'm stoked to get it up and running

So you guys are pleased with the sound? Anything you plan on changing? Which pots are you using?

Wow (and whew)! I bought and received one of these, too (fortunately, as it seems). Nice stuff, folks. Looks great and I'm glad to hear folks like the sonics.

I'm good with which components go where, but I'm not clear about what else needs to be included to complete the Virgo - powersupply, inputs, outputs, attenuator. Any assistance is appreciated.

Cheers,

Oh, anyone buy/build, or know anyone who bought/built, any of the other stuff from AudioTek? I've got a Q10 mini integrated stereo amplifier without any documentation.

Thanks!

I have tested this amplifier with different earphones. For him it completely makes no difference, whether 32 ohms or 300 ohms. He runs simply perfectly with all what I have tested. The sound is as on top was already said. I am with Virgo more than contently. Virgo has excelled my both Little Dot MK5 and MK2.

glad to hear there are other virgo amp owner , i think people can order the kits from
My3c.net, i assume audiotek bought the kits from them and resell it in ebay?
i owned the little dot mkv in the past and i think the virgo is definitely a step above it. the circuit design of the virgo look superior to the mkv, the mkv is a opamp based with signal boosted by 2 stage of transistors, the virgo is a full discreet , class a, no feed back with only dc servo to get rid of the dc voltage at the output. i love to hear comparison of this amp vs the kumisa iii or the dynalo

Sorry but the virgo has definitely some global negative feedback. See R25-R26.

Argh I have 8Vdc coming out of the right channel and I don't know what's wrong! Pretty sure the orientations are all right..

check the fets for shorts. mounting the output fets the wrong way could have blown a number of the others. You have a working channel for reference so get the ohm meter and and find the differences.

also, anything else getting hot?

I'm looking for a power transformer for this headphone amp kit. I've seen the T96 O-type transformer mentioned/spec'ed. Can anyone direct me to where I can get this transformer, or something equivalent?

Thanks.

Heard this amp the other night and found it a truly excellent LCD2 amplifier.
