NOW SOLD, THANKS
Well, I sold a Promitheus NOS DAC here, but due to excessive noise in the buyer's system it's coming back. It's only got slight hum in mine at ~3 o'clock volume, so I'll keep it....
But that's not why we're here
So BACK up FS after an initial change of mind is an Oritek Modded Zhaolu v4.1, with headphone amp. I am original owner, bought a D2.5 and sent to Ori to make a full v4.1; I also own a v4.1 DAC-only OMZ upgraded from a D2, am hanging onto that.
Sound is excellent, as well-documented. And, as well-documented, this needs the power cycle to sometimes lock the signal. I've sometimes had to power it twice, if I don't wait long enough. But once on, it's fine, and plays lovely music.
I have used this as a DAC/preamp, using a 1/4" to RCA adapter (will include, along with basic power cord) to feed a power amp. I've driven several phones with it (currently making a pair of AKG 702's sound very nice). And I've used it as a basic DAC as well.
My price is $400 shipped in US. Sorry, US only....
I take Paypal, no fees charged.
See my feedback linked below, or on Audiogon as chams_uk.
Thanks,
Todd - skullguise.
