It sort of makes you lose hope for humanity when there are people dying in Africa from malnutrition, yet people in developed nations are spending $10,000 on ****ing cables.

Yes, cables are the only things that people and governments "waste" money on that could go to help people.

And as far as "losing hope for humanity," the other day a driver hit a kid in a crosswalk, the kid flipped up on the hood of the car, the passenger got out and pulled the kid off the car hood and into the road, and then they sped away, leaving the kid to die in the street. There are many tragedies and issues occurring every day that deserve our concern. Someone spending the money they earned on what they want that doesn't match our value system is definitely not one of them. Jeez.

Yes, and he also says: "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." Rom. 2:1 (NIV)

I think selling silver wire for a portable LOD is in line with the title. Silver breaks too easy. The designer warns against severe bends but they know the application needed requires a radical bend. I've been a victim of this issue.

Some people are so wealthy that they will always get the most expensive product even if it only yields a 1 percent difference in quality.

Running signals for many 10 of meters in a studio with big power supplies all over the place is way more demanding than running a couple of meters or so in your home. Even so .... I've spent about 2 Ferraris worth on my studio and would rather buy a solid gold kettle than some of these ridiculous cables. The coffee just tastes so much better from a gold kettle, it's not even close, the difference is like night and day, you can't be serious about coffee if you don't have a solid gold kettle.

Edit to say I prefer a silver plated copper kettle, thank you.

oh come on, they are all exactly the same, all monster cables, regardless of the grade, are the same, and all blue-jeans cable are exactly the same as the monsters.

only the "placebo" people say they are any different.

Are you one of them? Don't be.Be smart

When it comes to cables, tweaks, etc etc... I like to enlist the reluctant assistance of someone who couldn't possibly give a s**t about whatever it is I am changing in the system, and ask them to listen and try and explain what difference they hear, if any...which is why I own Cardas GR cables...and even worse, a couple of Power Plants and Totem Beaks...

Well you're a complete idiot. Everyone knows that silver plated kettles produces coffee which is too bright and tight in the upper range of flavours, making it appear cold. Gold is far better and produces a nice rich and warm coffee, who wants cold coffee? The other thing to watch out for is skin effect, ever drink a cappuccino with skin? Yuck!! Stick to gold mate it's a whole new world, you will be tasting flavours in your coffee which you've never tasted before and didn't even know existed!! This is how coffee should be made and I can put you in touch with someone who can make you a perfect gold plated kettle for only $25,000 or $45,000 with a really good power cable, which will make those flavours zing. BTW, don't listen to professional coffee makers, they think they understand the science of coffee but we all know that coffee flavour goes well beyond what science can tell us. Don't listen to scientific claims of stupid double blind taste tests, just use your own mouth and your own tongue.
