Suicide jokes, a new low in head-fi? Read it on head-fi news.

All I know is the new "i" models definitely won't be worse. On amazon.com the sr225i is only $7 more than the "old" sr225, so if you want to take the plunge I'd say go for it.

Lol nice resurrection of an old thread.
I havent heard any Grados, but you should get one.
Good with rock.
If you can get the SR80i, i heard the SQ is better and bass is better as well.

I just got a new pair of SR80i's. Unfortunately I can't compare them to the previous generation SR80s but I can tell you that I am definitely impressed and already looking up the Grado line...its like a drug

I own the 60i , I demo'd them against the 60,80 and 125. I had the money to buy any and chose the 60i as it sounded like the 80 but had nicer treble , less painful. The 125 was way too bright and the 60 sounded anemic next to the 60i.

I went here looking for an intelligent reply as to the advantages of SR60's over the new SR60i's and all I see is a bunch of BAD comedians. it would be nice to remove these inappropriate comments...just my opinion.

This is Head fi.

Dozens of people will tell you the difference between the two is this much:

|_________________________________________________ ____|

When really, the differences, if any, will be closer to this:

|_|

They're good phones which ever way you shake it; just enjoy and don't worry about whether you missed out on something.

Half the people who hang out here will be wondering if the older model was better as well. And the other half won't be able to tell the difference but will go with whatever the loudest crowd noise is.

Whether its a slight refinement of a model line, or the AKG practice of releasing several different versions of the same headphone (different pads, mostly), it never ceases to amaze me how many Head-Fiers become absolutely convinced that they have been short-changed by the 'wrong' model.

Sure, there are magazine reviews which tout the sr60i upgrade as being significant, but that doesnt mean you have to throw your sr60s in the bin.

Welcome to the internet.

Just about every forum I frequent is like this. Head-Fi is one of the "better" ones.

My SR60 originals from 2005 have just died for the 2nd time. The solder connecting the wires to the left cone has broken again. My fault, I keep getting up out of my seat infront of my Mac Pro with them still on my head and pulling the cord. I use them for music and gaming, the 3d Stereo picture they give is Fantastic in WoW.
I'm going to buy a new pair of SR60i's and compare once I have repaired my old faithfuls again. Comparison incoming in about a week.

There's always a Junior Head-Fi'er to bump old threads isn't there

SR-60i for gaming? You gotta be kidding me. Grados are terrible for gaming and I have used both the SR225 and HF-2 for gaming before. AD700 surpasses them all very, very easily.
