EMU 0404 USB and Games.

When I got the 0404 I was planning to use it for music and gaming, but on some games, I get this really annoying clicking/crackling sound. It only seems to happen when bullets are shooting, or just a bunch of noises going on period.

Also, another thing, it seems as though the problem is happening only on games that I have on steam. Does anyone else have this problem?

DPC Latency Checker

Run the program.
Red bars = Bad
Green Bars = Good

Yep, mine is in the red. What does that mean? Is there a way to fix it?

whats the rest of the hardware in your system?

tons of USB devices? slow CPU? not a lot of RAM? etc

My computer is extremely fast.

Intel E8400@3.0GHz
4 GB DDR2

Only things in my USB ports are my mouse and the 0404.

I wouldn't rate that as "extremely" fast, but its more than fast enough CPU wise

now, what OS are you using? and we'll tell you if you're actually using 4GB of RAM

and what graphics card do you have?

your KB is PS/2 I take it?

you CAN NOT be using a 64-bit beta OS and expecting it to run stable or have no issues, and you CAN NOT seriously sit there and complain about driver incompatabilities in an OS that isn't released yet

try with a stable and mature platform before you cry in your milk, if its still got issues, come back

Just reinstalled Vista 32bit, and, as I expected, it is exactly the same. Actually even worse according to the latency checker. So Windows 7 is not "the source of all of my problems."

So what else could be wrong?

wow, didn't expect that one, ok, are your mainboard drivers properly loaded? try updating there

I know this is pretty 1980's styling, but try checking for IRQ/DMA conflicts? (yeah, we're at the point where conventional reasoning is out the window, something is borked)

Everything looks good on my side. I'm thinking about just selling this thing. It has been nothing but trouble lately. What do you think I could get on ebay for it?
99% chance that it's an issue with motherboard drivers. Have you installed the INF updates for your motherboard and made sure all hardware has correct drivers?
I love how the immediate reaction of people is to ebay their equipment at a massive loss rather than solve the issue, simply because its a minor inconvienence from time to time

honestly you'd get $1500 or less, and I don't care how much it cost you, ebay is a cold, desolate place

see, I asked that too, and he's either just ignoring it, or doesn't know what we're asking, or its a different issue but because system specs are a tightly guarded national secret, you gotta pry them out one at a time with the jaws of life, so its pretty painful to sit and troubleshoot this

Follow the instructions on the website I linked to earlier. It will show you how to solve your problem. It could be your video card, wireless adapter, or just a bad driver from some hardware.
What is your average latency on DPC?

Are you just generally lacking in social niceties, or what?
