This post is a classic example of childish behavior, and maybe I'm wrong here, but I'm thinking that some moderation might be needed in this case.
You came into this thread and said: thanks for the laughs, then you called everyone “girls”, then you encouraged the “bitchfest” and you didn’t even comment on any headphones or bass in general.
What were you saying about being childish? Or about constructive discussion?
Now all of a sudden you decide this thread should be closed and my post moderated
Read your own post and moderate yourself, and let the real mods moderate the rest of us. Thanks.

I agree. That song is supposed to be Drum&Bass but bass is so weak.

You are making the same mistake as MDB. At no point have I ever stated or implied that I think DT770s are the best sounding headphones. I merely stated that they are excellent headphones, and pointed out that those who accuse them of having exaggerated bass are wrong.

Overall, I think that DT150s are much better phones, but there has thus far been no need to defend those against infantile insults such as "fart cannon".

(The only open phones I have heard or will ever hear for comparison were K701s.What I learned from those is that open phones will never be acceptable in my situation.
The only other good closed phones I know of are Denon, Audio Technica, JVC, and Ultrasone. The Denons are "closed" in name only, with zero isolation. The Audio Technicas have a reputation for weak bass, so there is no chance I would like them. The JVCs are ungodly expensive. I may try Ultrasones at some point, though I am put off by their all-plastic construction and by their reputation for brightness.)

Listen to 1812 Overture on phones and tell me if the cannon fire gives you feeling of real cannons. Then the same again on a Hi-Fi system with a decent low frequency (speakers or sub)

Now stand next to a real canon, and then go home to your hifi speakers, tell me if it gives you the same feeling... honestly you don't stop do you. I'm out.

Oh come on... don't insult anyone's intelligence here.
That's like asking what color is a red fire-truck...

Not from my hifi speakers no. I've fired guns in real life, phones don't come close.

What is the point of debating speakers vs. phones? This is a headphone forum!

Why irverdude keeps spouting his opinions about speakers and subwoofers in a headphone thread is beyond me.

It's not funny, it's just annoying and pointless.

I love a good bass. I don't like tight, dry and overly controlled bass. I like that bass that lingering, musical sort of bass that spreads out a bit. Can't wait until the Denons get hear so I can see what they do for the bass.

Replace that cleartop with a Mullard long plate or a Telefunken smooth plate, then you will have more bass coming directly from you amp. If you have an issue with some headphones that are too bright then a Mullard short plate will work well as its got lots of bass and is a tad rolled off in the highs.

Whatever DUDE. Go back and read this entire thread. Pretend you are not a participant. Then tell me its not silly and childish.

Its 10% discussion. 90% p*ssing match.

I just thought it was odd that a bunch of "audiophiles" were acting this way. Especially since just about everything is subjective when it comes to a person's idea of great sound.

Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon?

I'm not gonna go back and read this whole thread DUDE.
YOU back and read it, then you'll see I said I'm not an "audiophile" and I don't have to act according to your preconceived notion of how an "audiophile" should behave.

I'm done talking to you. Goodbye.

I guess those two words make the question quite different. What I tried to ask was based on the headphones you are currently using, what experience have you had with other headphones which made you come to the conclusion that the DT770 offers great quality bass? But I guess you already answered this.

If you have the opportunity, maybe you should give the Sennheiser HD650 a try? As long as they are amped right, I think you will enjoy the bass on them as well.

Why do you feel the need to "defend" a pair of headphones in the first place?
