What sorts of "new" arguments and facts can possibly be added? You have certainly not proven your assertion that wimpy bass sounds natural.
I have heard enough live music to know what it sounds like. The DT770s have the same balance of frequencies as a live concert. Headphones with less bass, therefore, underrepresent it.
If I tell you "Dropping that rock on your foot will hurt.", are you going to respond with "That is just your opinion. Pain is subjective."? Of course not, facts are facts.

1- I would say the people who invest large sums of money in to a speaker system (ie stereotypical hi-fi person) do not know that their speakers start to roll off around 30hz. There is not a lot of bass info below 20hz in a majority of music.

2- Full range seakers by in large CANNOT compete with a subwoofer when it comes to 25hz and below. It is simply not physically possible.

3- Two words: room acoustics. They play a HUGE roll when it comes to low frequencies.

Find a local person with a IB subwoofer setup, then come back here please.

You are a blockhead. Almost everyone repeatedly has told you, concerts have extremely unnatural bass. You have no comprehension ability, just a bot that repeats itself. No rational or reasoning at all. If you can comprehend, if the DT770 has the same unnatural, bloated bass of a concert, then yeah, the bass on the DT770 is unnatural. Thank you for proving my point, good job.

Also almost none of the headphones you compare to have wimpy bass. Seriously, someone took a jackhammer to your ears, you can no longer hear low frequencies unless its blasting into your ass. I pity you, I sympathize, I feel sorry for you that you can no longer hear properly.

And yes pain is most certainly subjective. Wow, you are a true blockhead. Every person has different pain thresh holds, this is elementary, kindergarten knowledge. I've taken BB shots to my foot at blank range.

That is a pretty hilarious conclusion, considering that I have a master's in theoretical mathematics, and have taught courses in logic.

Quit making false assumptions. I never stated or implied that "concerts" referred to "amplified concerts". When I played in the string orchestra, my best friend was a bass player, so I know exactly what unamplified acoustic bass sounds like. (Which is why I know as a fact, not an opinion, that DT770s reproduce it flawlessly.)

(Instead of posting here, you should go shoot some more BBs into your foot. It would be more productive.)

Have you not admitted you've been to rock concerts?

You should really consider taking your own advice.

You're the only one here making false assumptions about the performance of the DT770. Your "facts" are merely opinions, derived from ignorance and a complete lack of headphone experience, nothing more. One day you will finally realize how asinine your defense of the DT770 has been, but based on your know-it-all attitude and the way you conduct yourself, you'll never be man enough to admit it openly on the forum.

Ignorance truly is bliss though. Keep on keeping on enjoying your "fun" headphones.

Cheers.

I do take my own advice. I do not post assumptions, but only things that I know from firsthand experience.

Of which you have very little with headphones. What was it again? A whole four or five?

A moderator needs to shut down this thread.

These girls have slapped each other silly.

That is relevant how? The (factual) statement that DT770s sound fantastic (with natural bass) is only about those phones, it has nothing to do with comparison.
Besides, you are forgetting that I have decades of experience with audio in general, so I obviously know great sound when I hear it.

What is with this forum? When I submitted the above post, nothing happened, it just sat there. When I tried it again, I was told it was "double posting"!

Some problems I hear. Jude is working his arse off to get everything working smoothly again.

I second the motion to shut down the thread. I would prefer HD-Dude to audition whatever headphones he can and report back in a different thread. I do not understand why individuals have to insult one another? Does it make someone feel happier (superior?). That's why I have read and not contributed to the forums. Everyone likely has different hearing sensitivities and they perceive the sound differently. Indeed what you 'hear' from the same song on the same equipment may vary day to day. I think the advantage to the forums is that if you can identify an individual who appears to perceive sound the way you do, (i.e. describes the music in a similar manner from headphones that you both own) then reading their reports on other headphones can be very informative. Sorry for the soapbox speech. I will now step down.
By the way, I enjoy a solid bass line in my music. Maybe because I cannot hear the high frequencies as I get older! Anyway I am a big John Entwistle fan (as well as Keith Moon) so I want to clearly hear their contributions to the music. My favorite headphone for this is the ATH-L3000, which yes is expensive and hard to find... I have not heard many other the headphones (RS-1, PS-1), but I also enjoyed the DX-1000 for the bass but the upper registars are not as good as the L3000 (but it is a lot cheaper).
