IE8 question for IE8 users: Silver screw or black screw?

So Duncan brought up that he had seen some pics of them with a silver screw: Post
I then decided to search Google and this came up:

It has a silver screw with an opaque wire base (Correct term)? Whilst I observed that my one had a black recessed screw and translucent wire base. I am wondering which ones you have, and if one of them is an older model, or newer model.

Also the press shots of the IE8's seem to have a silver screw... Odd.

This is a pic of my one.

Those should be prototypes

Posted this at that other IE 8 thread:

Ok, the bass knob should be in black. Pictures of the IE 8 with silver knobs are of the none-working prototype. Even the connector is translucent with the commercial IE 8 (the prototype is different).

Sennheiser haven't updated all their websites with the final look, so don't worry about it.

oh no you poor thing just noticed your running them off a 1st gen touch, the 1st gen had really inferior sound quality (i know i owned one) the 2nd gen really cleared things up and added some important new sound chips too the device.

I am running it off my MacBook at the moment, but I need a new mp3 player. I might wait till the 3rd gen iPod touch (Might be pretty good, hopefully an OLED screen and dual core GPU) At the moment it'll do since I am not a "True audiophile" I'll save up a bit till the new iPod touch comes out (September) By then, I will have to choose between the Cowon S9 or that. Oh well, I'm one of the early owners of the iPod touch, bought it 2 weeks after released.
