Goldpoint Headphone Pro - Page 17

Just had to jump in here and say that I received my GP Headphone Pro on Friday. I listened to it over the weekend for about 8 hours. It may not be fully burned in of course, and it very well may not need it, but I gotta tell you it sounds fantastic!! My MD5000s never had it so good. I'll post more detail about the sound after I let it log so more hours.

Nice with more ears on it. Yours is already at v5 I suppose?

yes, the latest and greatest. The transparency and frequency extension is immediately noticeable. The noise floor is outstanding, inky black. I also don't seem to have the clicking between volume knob gradations.

Has anyone had the chance to compare this to the gilmore lite? since they are both in the same price range, and have both been said to have the same qualities, black background and detail retrieval?.

I'd put the GP in the same league as the GS1.

So i'm the only one with the clicking problem. Not as noticeable as when I first got the up grade, but was always there. I hear it's normal with stepped attueters. I just hate having to use a ohm adapter for my 5 and 8 ohm DT48a/s. The sound is more thick and conjested.. Less clarity, and feels wrong to me.. So I been using my receiver more and more. Will try the T1 with the GP, but I doubt it will drive it well. The GP performs best with my low ohm headphones.

Just received my Goldpoint amp. I'm really impressed so far after 4 hours of burn-in (!). Two words come to my mind : precision and details. It freaked me out when I listened to Who Knows (Jimi Hendrix & The Band of Gypsys) and I heard details that I had never heard before (I've listened to this song about 200 times in the last 15 years).

Arn did a great job with this amp. I'm surprised it doesnt get more recognition.

At the moment the Goldpoint is running on a 0.7 Ah ac/ac adapter instead of the 2 Ah it actually needs. My local shop didn't have the right one so I've one on order now. It'll be here in a few days.
Also Apatn is coming over next Friday to have a listen and compare it to his older version.
So you'll need a few more days patience....
