About the lifelike and realistic I'm can guess that you'll like the Fostex T-20 V2.
I never heard the Fostex T20, but the HE5 outperform my T50RP in no uncertain terms.

Pro 900 is phenomenal with piano... It´s good with anything percussive but particularly piano so that doesn´t mean the HD 800 is horrible in any way.

Nice you have the T50RP. Very curious what happens to the bass with your Pro 900 and HE 5. T50RP is a bit to dark for me and are seriously lacking dynamics but it´s mid range is good.

I'm really thinking about getting this amp... I was looking at the Audiotailor Jade before but after I saw this mentioned and read the review, I realized that audio detail was what I'm really looking for. Gonna have to wait a while before I can drop $550, though.

The T-20 have one of the best upper mids, very natural and balanced especial with vocals.

I think it is well worth the wait and more than worth the investment.

I spent the last day trying to A-B to my old Slee Solo. Doesn´t new sound signature syndrome work with headphone amps? Come to think of it I have never been impressed with new amps straight away? Whereas it´s always fun to listen to new sources or headphones? Just me?

I have for the last month or so exclusively listened to the Headphone Pro or lately my ipod touch. There is just no comparison now anyway... There is no definition in bass on the Slee Solo. I thought I wasn´t missing anything down there on it but I was apparently wrong! It´s mushy in both attack and decay and end result it´s one if not two tiers below the Headphone Pro with all my headphones.

^ Thanks for that. Makes me feel good.

I wish you could listen to the Solo SRGII w/ the PSU1, it is a totally different beast from the Green Solo or the Solo SRGII. I have loaned mine to at least 5 other member and all have really enjoyed it. Three of these members had listened to the previous version (Solo SRG) and all three were favorably impressed by the major improvements with the SRGII. Cheers.

Now, I would love to listen to the Goldpoint it sure looks like it would be a great sounding amp. Plus I like the vertical one since I could use it as a headphone stand.

Kees Any luck with the customs?

Curious how it performs with the 900/Dx 1000 (I guess you don´t have the ED 8) compared to the stock version.

Mrarroyo yes been curious about the SRG II as well as you know

You will notice a immediate improvement interms of resolution & bass control.. & the decay of instruments.. More people need to buy this amp.. I guess 550 makes them un FOTM friendly, & people don't see them as a good bang for the buck.. I guess an amp must be 400 or less to make that list..Sad.. The GP amp is clearly on par with sub 1,000 amps.. That alone makes it a great BFTB..

I understand..But Audio is too subjective, there's no right or wrong.. Me & Erik feel the DT48 gets the Piano 'just right'. Kees feels the Pro 900 gets the piano 'just right'... Neither of us would be right or wrong, which makes audio frustrating. No absolutes, only opinions.. Along with different gear & what we interpret how a piano should sound.
