As for power what is it biased to? Low or high impedance headphones?
Low I think. I have the instructions. I will get them & post some numbers.

Well, the DT48e has some high roll off, so they might not be the best headphone to judge in that area.. But, I do notice improvement over my receiver in that area..

One more thing.. The instructions state not to change headphones without turning off the amp?? Why?? I never heard this before.. Just a precaution? I did it 3 times.. Not reading the instructions, cause I never heard this before?? I did however, turn down the volume to zero before changing headphones..

Just keep the volume control down when you change hps.

What Planar do you have, the Fostex T-20? I just wondering if this will be the case with my K-702.

Audio Technics 810.. I could listen to the volume on max with my DT48 with 120 adapter..(depending on the source) It is louder then I like, but not ear bleeding..

Hello high quality audio aspirants!

The totally good news is as follows:

1) This latest Goldpoint Headphone Pro headphone amp is truly awesome!
As you may know, we have done major revisions:
a) Now a different, one per channel, FET input opamp instead of
a single dual op-amp with bi-polar transistor inputs.
b) Completely different shunt regulated power supply - no interstage
transformer so no hum - but unexpectedly, extraordinarily great sounding.
c) Now using 2 Amp wall adapters - (used to use 1A).
This does make a difference - especially for crisp, "distinct" bass notes...
d) A new, (small) custom heatsink.
e) The sound quality you will be hearing now is remarkable - and I expect
you all to remark about it...

2) The batch of 16 I was working on is essentially finished
and individual units are awaiting shipping.

I don't have C...... & no custom heat sink.. I will email Arn..

Still overly bright, with piercing highs at hi volumes.. Some is the recording though..
They where planning to ship the heatsink separately since you don´t need it unless you run headphones with less then 25 ohms so that will not be a problem

So maybe you better not use your 8 Ohm DT48 for the time being....

He has the 8ohm version? I have mine with a cardas recable & 120 ohm adapter.. Tonal balance is a bit on the warm side.. Mates very well with my Yamaha receiver.. Better then the Pro IMO.. Arn is going to upgrade my amp.. I'm going to drop it off at his office when the heat sinks come in..

If you use a amp that doesn't support your headphones Ohm's.. Which is likly to occur.. Headphone damage or amp damage?
