ATH-ON3's vs SoundMagic PL30's

Lets play pretend and say I found the ON3's for the same price of the PL30's.


Which sounds better?
Which is bassier?
Which is more comfy?

All help is apreciated.

Sorry, though I had the PL30, I couldn't tell you about the ON3 or the P10.

If you are leaning toward headphones vs. canalphones maybe the new Sennheiser HD218 for $40 might sound the best of the lot.

I can say the PL30 does not have much impact. It has a nice amount of bass esp. on the higher setting but it is not very visceral.

Had both of these though not at the same time but answering your questions the on3's have bigger better bass and a better overall sound though a little unfair to compare to the pl30's as they are a different kind of beast. Comfort-wise I found the pl30's more comfortable by a fair margin though if you are not used to canalphones, you may indeed find the on3's better.
