what player do you guys use on your PC?

I've tried itunes, winamp, and lately I am totally hooked on media monkey

I love it and find it gets the job done, and it even syncs my ipod touch, automatically converting the flac's to 320 mp3's

anything better out there?

Jriver Media Center

I have been pretty happy with Jriver Media Center over the last years. A few things I like.
  • It supports native ASIO and now WASPI playback.
  • Very fast configurable UI for larger collections. Great for classical music
  • It acts as a streaming server for any other instances of JRiver in the house.
  • It syncs to most handhelds inclusing but not limited to Ipods
  • Acts as a uPnP server
  • DirectX host for room correction plugins etc
  • Broad codec support (FLAC, APE, WMA including lossless, AAC, etc..)
  • Format conversion with tag and album art support
  • Very low CPU usage during ASIO playback <1% from CD or APE files.
  • Works great with network shares
  • Great podcasting support
  • Very easy to import and export tracks from the library!
Cheers

im using WINAMP just now. i was using itunes and really liked it, but im currently getting prepared for my e-mu and its ASIO support. didnt like foobar. lightweight, but ugly. even when i skinned it, still didnt suit my tastes.
forgot about media monnkey. that was the other one i wanted to try out.

this jriver thing sounds interesting. i like the sound of "It acts as a streaming server for any other instances of JRiver in the house."
does that mean i can play the same track through 4 different laptops with it installed? very useful for uni house parties. 4 laptops, 4 stereos, 4 rooms all playing the same thing. no more head ache inducing mashups when moving between rooms.
