I don't know the definite release date yet, although it should be available towards the end of March. The main thing is I've ordered it, and it costs less than I was expecting to pay! Now I have to do the waiting thing... ... but I don't care because it's ordered

1. Updated: Expected delivery date 5th to 24th March.

2. New update: 'Unconfirmed' release date for April.

3. This item is due to be released on May 10, 2009.

4. Now available from Play.com with a release date of 30th April and price tag of £249, quite a saving on the Amazon price!

Any info on this DAP on the codecs it handles?

Any chance the ability to play Lossless will be included?

I haven't got any more information about it than we already know, except that it should have at least 30 hours battery life. As for which codecs it supports, I think it's the usual suspects, AAC/WMA/MP3 etc and WAV/PCM, so no compressed lossless I wouldn't think.

So far MP3, WMA, AAC, PWM WAV are confirmed. The Japanese version will likely be the model with Atrac3 and AT3lossless support.

Japanese models always have better features.
Since the death of Atrac/SS outside of Japan, we lost a lot of those features.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! I think you'll still be hoping for a screen protector by the time a 64GB Sony comes out. I had to buy both my 808/829 cases from eBay because Sony didn't bother to release anything for months. They're always short on accessories, and they're always late getting them out as well.

Don't remind me about it. We've been waiting for the S630 silicon case since December! It has been out of stock for months!! My gf is now bugging me to import one of those special coloured version from Japan, but they cost more than £30 once you include delivery!

Is the screen possibly made of glass? I don't think Sony would use the same screen material from their current players since this is a touch device and sometimes fingers might have some dirt that can scratch a screen.
