Welcome to the Head-Fi! I'm actually very interested in the Arcam FMJ CD23 -- have you compared it to other CD players using headphones? If so, which ones and how did they compare? Thanks!

Yes I am not a headphone newbie but a Head-Fi one.
I will definitely give some views and comparisons on my systems
naturally.
DanG regarding the cd23 I did not really audition much when sellecting a partner to my 4040 system because I initialy just wanted a reasonable low cost stop gap player to use before obtaining a more exotic machine....My thoughts .. get a arcam cd72 for a year then upgrade, but after listening to one, thought a bit soft so I got a cd92 {ring dac} its good when run in but well I just had to hear the 23,so I Borrowed one and promptly traded in
the 92.
My4040 ,23.siltech. combo has a top end to die for, perccussive
metal sounds real.[recording dependent of course]
I to would be interested in other users views on 23 and if anyone
else has tried the 23 4040 combo.
It is I have to say though a cable sensitive combo with good possibility of tuning the sound presentation to ones taste.

I am listening to the Aphex Twin,s new cd Drukqs at the moment
very nice, go listen even if you think you do not like electronic music

Work is calling now, must have more money, must get.....more..

Look forward to more dialogue,

a CD23 FMJ a stop gap machine? bloody hell! what were you planning? Marantz CD7? You you want to sell that later on at a reasonable price, drop me an email, I'll be gladly have a listen and might take it off your hand. (I 'm in the UK too, Midlands)

And you went from a CD72 to a FMJ, that's a big jump, 4 times the prices. You got any speakers in your system?
