Headphone Recommendations for a friend of mine ;)

Info/specs that he needs to meet:

Type of Music: Acoustic, new age, rock and voice are mostly what I listen to now.

I am perfectly fine with over the ears, in fact I think they sound better and I don’t enjoy the phones in the ear canal. I like the idea of fold ability but it is not mandatory.

I am always into value and so used if they are working properly is fine. A price of 100- 200 would be good. Clarity with some bass is desirable. These headphones are mostly for use with the pod.

WHAT HEADPHONES WOULD YOU GUYS RECOMMEND???

thank you for any input!!!!!

Grado, the best you can afford

Sennheiser HD 25 SP

I use Sennheiser HD 25 SP

Ideal for use with a computer, you can hear all the fine detail in the movies

A DJ's headphone, tough as, with excellent sound for movies etc cuts out most external sound, recommended as being better than noise canceling headphones which are thought by some to be a bit of a gimmick !

I got advice from the headphone forums 'head-fi.org' and headwize.com

AudioCubes.com - Denon AH-D1000 High Quality On-Ear Headphones -

Whatever it is it sould be low impedance and efficent for use with the ipod ie: Impedance: 32 ohms Sensitivity: 103dB/mW. Denon, Grado, Audio Technica, and maybe Sony offer over the ear headphones with similar specs.

Penicillin is your friend.

Grado sounds like a good choice FWIR (and a short listen I had with an MS1 which is sort of grado), though you might want to tapemod some bowls or use some flats because im not sure how well itd fare with acoustic music (which frequently is bass light).

Grados leak sound, will this be in public? If so then closed cans would be better.

for acoustic, voice and rock/new age RS-1 will work best (only at home!)
