Looking for good speakers

2.1 is what im looking for, and so far it's between the Logitech z-2300's and the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, they both range around the same price. If not any other suggestions, can anyone find one of these for a price below 130 online or local to Vancouver Canada. Thanks.

I've looked into this a lot over the years and I can highly recommend Acoustic Energy 2.1 and 5.1 systems. The AEGO 2.0 is fantastic and comes up on ebay now and again (at least over here). After that i would suggest the AEGO M which you can buy new as well as used for good prices. If you want strictly gaming speakers you may find the bass a little lean though.

Of course if you can find the 5.1 system then that sounds amazing in stereo and makes a decent surround system as well (also comes with built in DAC and pre-amp)!

All of these go for a similar price over here and will easily beat the klipsch and z-2300. I liked the Klipsch better than the z-2300 if that's all you can find. But the AE stuff is in a different league.

Price range?

I hear many good things about the Swan M10, though I'm not sure if these are still in production.

My .02 cents about the Klipsch Promedia 2.1: For computer speakers, they're sufficient. They're pretty boomy, due to the subwoofer taking on more frequencies than it should (lower mids/ upper lows), They are a bit muddled, but compared to the Logitechs, i think they're a bit more clear

price range is max 150, but i would REALLY want to go below that, and im only saying 150 because i only can find the z-2300 or the ProMedia's that go for 140, i cant find any place cheaper, that would ship to Vancouver Canada, or Locally here that sells them any cheaper...

Sorry should have sent links/reviews:

From What hifi (regarding Aego P5):
"We've loved this system from the moment we first heard it, and if you want great surround sound from tiny speakers, this is the set-up to go for". "Even more impressive is the Aego P5's stereo ability: you could happily use it to listen to CDs. All in all this system is a revelation: on style and sound quality it's a winner." - What HiFi 2002 Awards - Best Buy Winner.

This was awarded in 2002 so caveat there, but i really love mine and you can find them second hand for a fraction of their retail ~£500. Do i sound like a fan? I guess it was after staying around 'computer speakers' for a long time i didn't realise what i was missing.

More recently i can suggest the Audio Engine A2 (though no sub
Audioengine A2 review - whathifi.com

But i still preferred the Aego P5 in 2.1 by a long way!

Ok I'll shut up now...

I just want to get 2.1 speakers, and i want to know which ones are the best around my budget range (max 130-50). So far It's narrowed down to Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and the Logitech z-2300, leaning more towards the z-2300's because i can't seem to find any ProMedia's around.

Avoid active PC speakers and just get some Hi-Fi speakers, plus a amp. You'll regret buying PC speakers.

Agreed...

But I did find this if you're set on the Klipsch:

Here

That could hold you over till you get a nice home system. You could do worse...

I heard the Altec Lansing FX4021 were superb. If you dont like Altec Lansing for what ever reason, out of the logitech and the klipsch, i say the klipsch..
