Yes I know that Craig has proposed the AD1 tube use at the beginning but later discontinued.

Was it because of the socket used? because the AD1 use europasocket which is quite different that the

UX4 socket.  I have the AD1/UX4 adapter DIY made so that I can use the AD1 tubes with the BA right now

and so far there is no problem.   It has more beautiful mid, very organic mid, very transparent and clean sounding,

heads above the rest.  However I don't know whether the PX25 modded will provide the AD1 tube use

at their optimal level.  BTW I use the TFK AD1 NOS with barium pill, Tungram AD1 and Philips 4683

I guess the tube rolling options for AD1 version of ECBA are very limited.  Is TFK the clear choice for AD1 tubes?  I post a picture of some interesting B65s on the 6SN7 addict thread, take a look and let me know your thoughts. What is the sound signature of TFK 6SN7 and how does it compare to other top 6SN7 tubes?

Does anyone know when the next run is scheduled for?

Contact Craig.  It's not always made in "runs" anymore, if he has the metal on hand its usually just an 8 week wait these days.

Finally got a Tung-Sol 6SN7 BGRP!!!

Loving the HD800s with EAT300B & TS BGRP

Its a great tube with the BA.  Have you tried one of the Mullard brownbase ECC32?  It's the only tube I've tried that I preferred to the BGRP.

Cant seem to find one.

Any idea about ECC33. There are a few available.

Thanks

Man, I really got to get my tube slang down.  I have no idea what these are.

Three types of tubes in the BA:

Rectifiers in the PS (no point rolling)

Input tube (6SN7, 6SL7, 6F8G with adapter, and a whole lot of compatible tubes.)

Output tubes (Depending on which model you order, AD1, PX4, PX25, 300B, 2A3, 45, 307A - Standard is 300B/PX4 option)

Edit - There's an entire BA tube rolling thread with many user's experiences rolling different input/output tubes.  You could check that out when you're looking for tubes.

Wow congrats! I've been looking for the TS 6SN7 BGRP myself but no avail.

Can someone remind me which position is which for the 300B/PX4 switch?  Up or down for PX4?  Thanks!

Rear panel switch is up for PX4.  Voltage is 4V

Cheers!

Completely off the tube rolling topic, but have any BA/LCD-2 owners had a chance to listen to the HE-6s with a speaker amp?  If so, what are the sonic differences/similarities to the BA/LCD2?  Many are touting the HE-6/speaker amp combo as the top of the dynamic food chain, but I've yet to hear any dynamic rig better my BA.
