Grados=shrill highs, weak bass compared to ES7, mids that are almost sibilant, looks cheap. keep your volume low with these for your own hearing's sake and everyone that can hear around you. the jacks are also huge.
ES7=almost anyone would find these to sound pleasant, tight midbass thump, beautiful highs, recessed mids, looks fashionable
These descriptions are my overtly blunt opinions. However, I loved the Grado SR 60/80 where the pads covered the drivers and kept the highs at a tolerable level
