best headphones for BASS type music( Trance, techno etc. ) :D - Page 5

Ultrasone HFI-580 no doubt. Amazing bass impact, and a very large and wide soundstage which gives a very strong impressions of being surrounded with electronic music. The Ultrasones are the reason I started listening to House music, because that bass is just so addicting.

Audio Technica ATH M50 (159.99) or Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (169.99).

Wasn´t ultrasone developing some 4.1 (I think 4 drivers in total in two ears)? What happened to that?

Otherwise this is the wrong forum to ask about such a thing it´s like asking which bose headphone you want I suspect thus all these elitistics remark . I can´t recommend any 5.1 headphones for you either . I just didn´t find they give me a better 5.1 effect then stereo headphones... But if you want a 3d perception of music I would go with some Ultrasones. The Prolines anyway are superb with bass as well so you would certainly get that.

DT 770 PRO is really nice for Trance as well and is a bit cheaper... But you do get what you pay for.

they had qaudophonic headphones since the 70's with qaudophonic receivers. didn't turn out to well.... they even had large headphones with a dedicated tweeter and woofer inside the cups but were very big and heavy to wear for long periods. i tried some 5.1 headphones and again they are nothing special. they can't do anything better that a good stereophone can do. people under estimate the stereo image of both headphones and speakers. but before i ramble too much more lets stick to the subject.

op. i like my akg's for trance. i know lot of trance can be bass heavy but lot of trance and other forms of electronic music has very impressive stereo image/soundstage as well. for good bass and defiantly soundstage performance you should look into a pair of akg 240 studios. they might be what your looking for.
