Given performance to date, might better think of lemon or strawberry anhydrous packets like they use at the carwash.

I think the microfibre replacemant story is too convenient, by half, but don't really care - do we have a date _yet_ ?

That's what I thought. Their new choice of MicroFiber better be as good or better than the Alcantara they dropped. It would have been nice if they had posted that was the cause of the delay sooner.

I'm a fairly patient person. I enthusiastically got in line for an HD800 order near the beginning based on the uniformly positive reviews from Head-Fiers I respect. I check this thread every day for a morsel from Sennheiser about their actual expected ship date, only to end up feeling like Charlie Brown and the football again.

I've been in the product development business, I know that stuff happens with suppliers, new designs, testing, and so on. And I certainly want my expensive new toy to live up to my high expectations from a performance and quality standpoint. But where is Sennheiser in all this? Vague, indirect (through our tireless distributor Tyll), delivery estimates show a lack of consideration for their customer base. Just tell us a date you can sign up for, Sennheiser. If that changes, let us know.

OK, I'll go back to being patient now.

Now, now... to be fair, Sennheiser did take my order (and money) this morning for a hd800 replacement cable, with an estimated one month delivery. In fairness (being balanced and all), I was hung up on the first time after waiting patiently for 10 minutes, and I called back, left a message, and they did call me back an hour later - transferred me a couple of times, put me on hold to verify the cable could be ordered, then took my payment.

I will absolutely howl (laughter, glee, yada, yada, yada) if I get the cable before the phones. That would truly cap what has been a cluster fork release to date.

Oh, and does anyone really think we'll just forget all this once the headphones are in our grubby hands?

Late Feb -> early March -> late March -> late April -> ???

Late ... late late late.

I will wait till the end of June, if after this I will cancel this headphone.

The problem for Sennheiser, no doubt, is that if they even open their mouth, they'll just stimulate a lot of additional questions that they (and us) will have to deal with.

For example if they say, "Okay, shipping date is officially Xth of May." We'll end up with all sorts of folks calling us with questions about how many will ship and are they on the list.

I know it sucks, but it really is more efficient for everyone just to be patient and when it does happen, and you hear about it, the can will probably be very close to on the way to your house.

I am sure there are a lot of people who had they been aware of the actual shipping date would have opted for the newly released Grados. HMMMM

hmmm....maybe? not sure they are competing for the same audience

i know i am having both but i am a contrary sole

grados arent for everyone, some cant get past they looks

If I recall at the time they were both slated to be shipping in March.

My disappointment comes from ordering in Jan (#7 on the list) with an expected ship date late Feb/Early march, then it slipped to March/April, then it became late April, and now it is sometime in May.

I hate to say this but at this point I am "almost" hoping it is in June after CanJam so I can cancel my order if I don't like what I hear there vs Stax O2 (which I already have and love). The other part of me wants the HD800 here tomorrow, hence I remain #7 on the list for now.
