I just think the answers are all relative to the initial question. Everyone has their own impression on what "...analog-like, fun, and musical..." sounds like.

Non-oversampling dacs, for example, don't necessarily consitute fun and musical if the owner sees it as dull and boring. While vinyl can be very alive sounding, things oversample/upsampled dacs can conjure, for example.

The question begs for a "YMMV" type answer. But people like to share their opinions, so it's a GOOD question to get the ball rolling.

That said, I will go ahead and say Scott Nixon dacs are fun and musical, let's you forget about the format and enjoy the music!

Peace

Audionemesis DC-1. Extremely analog sounding DAC. Actually I've never heard a DAC so easy to listen to.

I have heard the BC SBD. I think it is pretty neutral and transparent. It's a fine Dac for the money and you can call BC and have it modded to meet your needs. I have also heard the AN Dac 1.1x/II and the signature model. Both have a very detailed and organic sound, very close to analogue. These are two different approaches to sound. The BC aims at transparency and neutrality, while the AN aims at a more organic sound, closer to analogue. That is not to say the SBD sounds sterile. It does not. Or that the AN Dac is colored. It is not. Both are well balanced in that regard. It is their total presentation that varies.

to my ears till today Havana was most musical, fun, toe tapping, analog like experience in my life
I really enjoy it, and most important issue: I am no longer looking for a better source, this one is a life keeper for me for sure, good bye SS and oversampling DAC's

Yeah Im really interested in the Havana, but I chose Buffalo because it regarded as the "Best" DIY and lots of hype with it and B22. I have no idea of really how it works and its sound sig. Im hoping to figure out on the other thread. Thanks
