In the thread on Little Dot's website, they say it will be released in April, along with their CD transport. http://www.little-tube.com/forum/for...sts=13&start=1

Hello All, The Little Dot DAC_1 is still scheduled to be released next month in April. The DAC_1 is non-up/oversampling and our main goal with this DAC was to produce as accurate and faithful a signal as possible. For adding a bit of warmth or euphonic character to the sound, well that's what our tube amplifiers are for For the DAC itself however, we really are aiming to reproduce the original signal as exact as possible.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but this appears to be a NOS DAC (non-up/oversampling) that supports 16/24bit, 8/192kHz??? That is pretty darn cool if that is the case!

EDIT: Actually, I just looked up the Wolfson WM8740 specs and it looks like an oversampling chip to me. Not sure how they are claiming this is a NOS DAC.

Woah, sounds great. I spend the last week reading about DACs and my head is a mess, can't choose. Now it seems this will be a perfect match for my LD III so I'll just wait till it's out.

I will be definitely keeping an eye on this. Are there any real-life pics available yet, or just the computer mock-ups on the LD forums?

It would be interesting to see how this compares to the compass. I hope I can be patient enough to wait for a proper comparison between these two..:P..half my mind is made up to pull the trigger on the compass!

Also, is there an actual Little Dot homepage?

No more news other than what is posted above Their English homepage is at the forum links posted above. Their "real" website is only in Chinese (Little-Tube)

I'd sign up to be one of the first to try it out if I could.. This and a mkIII sounds like a great deal.
