No you don't need a SC. Just using USB to transfer the digi signal to the DAC.

ohh I see.. I thought RCA was always split into two channels, not combined.. guess I was wrong

its labeled as RCA though and not COAX

no, there is no combining nor splitting there.
it's a single pipe that carries the bitstream (0's and 1's) from your transport.

I just asked Mr.Yang and seems that DAC_1 will be released in the mid of March. I just ordered my #7 DAC_1.

$299 for the DAC. Same for their new upcoming transport

You've got it right, usf09. If you use an external DAC, you'll take the digital signal right off the USB port from your PC and you won't require an internal sound card.

Does the USB interface converts straight to I2S? What kind of anti-jitter measures does this dac has (if any)?

I'd really like to see at least dual RCA outputs on these types of units. It allows much more flexibility without possible compromises in the signal path from simple splitters.
