Earpads for Grado SR-80

I've been reading much about the difference you can get with just changing your pads out. Are there any somewhat inexpensive pads that you guys would recommend that are very comfortable and possibly even improve the sound quality? The current stock pads fit a bit oddly over my ears.

FWIR, the pads for the HD414, do a quick google search for them. Haven't tried them myself but I did just order a pair.

BTW, they are BRIGHT yellow if that affects your decision. I think its just plain awesome.

Well when you get them if you could let me know how they sound and feel I'd appreciate it. I could care less what color they are if they sound good and are comfortable.

i did like my reverse coin modded hd414 pads, and i think they look really sweet too. but i just got bowls from ttvj in the mail today for my sr60, and trying them out now i think they're actually more comfortable. the hd414 pads kinda sat awkwardly on top of my ears and irritated them a little after a while. for me, the bowl pads are more circumaural and i think sound a bit nicer. the bass seems to be a bit tighter and the soundstage seems larger. i think i need to do more listening, but i think right now my preference goes to the bowls.

I've also heard washing the pads, especially repeatedly, helps a lot to soften up the pads if you want a no-cost option:

I think I'll try that when I get the other pads in.

I finally got my HD414 pads today. Curses for sending it to my house and not my school.

Right away the difference in comfort compared to the bowls is apparent. I never had a major problem with the bowls but these are so much more comfortable. They spread the pressure over your ears rather than just the edges. I also didn't immediately notice I was still wearing my glasses.

As for sound quality, I'm not gonna judge right away seeing as how I don't have my M3 with me right now and that's what I'm used to hearing. But I am pleased to say I haven't been able to notice any huge differences in the way the SR80's sound.
