High quality RCA cables...

Thread Starter
Alright, so I am setting up studio monitors from an Asus Essence STX and I need RCA cables to go from the card to the speaker...I was going to get the BlueJeansCable stereo cables, but the wire only splits for a few inches (since RCA plugs generally aren't that far apart) and my studio monitors are going to be at least 4-5 feet apart...I don't know how to make cables, but I would like high quality cables (even $30-40 per cable is fine) for the setup...i wanted the neutrik profi rca plugs, but any good quality rca plug will work...i think i have to use 2 separate coaxial cables in order for this to work, but I don't know what's good and what isnt...does anyboyd have any advice? (btw I can't use XLR or TRS because I don't have the money for an external DAC with those specs...i could get a cheaper card, then buy the e-my 0404 usb but i heard the headphone amp on that is just okay...)thanks for any advice, sorry for making this post so long

When you say that the Blue Jeans cable only splits for a few inches at the terminals, is there something that prevents you from splitting the cables yourself (like a ferrite core or a connector)? Some RCA cables are joined together along their length, but you can easily separate the two channels by just pulling their cords apart. I know this is the case for Monoprice cables.

These are the cables I've tried (all prices in US dollars):

Monoprice RCA cables ($3.19 for a 2-meter pair, which can be separated):
For only $2.35 each when QTY 50+ purchased - PREMIUM 2 RCA Plug/2 RCA Plug M/M 22AWG Cable - 6ft | RCA Audio Cables

Vampire Wire continuous-cast copper interconnects ($69 for a 2-meter pair):
Vampire Wire - #CCC/II

Belden 89259 cords with Eichmann bullet plugs ($75 list for a 1-meter pair; you can probably contact the seller for longer lengths, and based on the feedback, it looks like he will take best offers about $10 below his list price):
Belden 89259 w/Eichmann Bullet Plugs 1 Meter IC Pair - eBay (item 130281724728 end time Jan-25-09 16:20:14 PST)

Honestly, I haven't tried to discern any differences between any of them. I'm currently using the Vampire cables in my system, and they sound pretty good, but I don't think they're 20 times better than the Monoprice cables.

The blue jeans lc-1 stereo cables come as separate single cables, one with red and one with white.
