how to get the best out of my Cardas cable.

Okay admittedly I'm a little late to the Cardas cable party. I just ordered a cable off of head fi out of curiosity. It comes terminated in a 1/8 plug and I will end up plugging it into a 1/4 connector. Am i losing out on some fidelity if I don't get high end mini to 1/4 connectors? or is there a way to terminate it to 1/4?

Adapters are extra paths in the signal, so quality is degraded. Fortunately, your ears will never be able to hear these minute differences. If you're paranoid, just buy an adapter made from the same metal as the connector.

Reterminate them to 1/4 if you like or just get a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter. There is also no need for a cable in between the adapter if it is just for home use.
