Beyerdynamic's Manufaktur

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else love the idea of custom designing your phones? Before I decided on picking up a pair of 770-80's I had messed around on Beyerdynamic's Manufaktur site and it made quite an impression on me. Now I know style is really the last thing you or I really care about when we're talking phones. It's all about the sound. But if I like the 770's as much as I think I will... its like icing on the cake to make the sound that you love look how you want them to. So in case anyone is interested in checking out the way I'd design my phones if had the 302.5 Euros. Here's how I set them up:

-32ohms (portable non-amp friendly... if I had a portable amp I'd hit the 250s)
-Straight Cable (because I don't know how I'd like the curled cable... hmm curled might be better)
-Walnut Burl finish housing
-Piano Lacquer Black Mounting
-Walnut Burl End Piece
-Leather Black Headband
-Velours Black Ear Pad
-Matt Black Yoke
-Matt Black Aluring
-Customization would be my name, in case anyone tried to jack them I could prove ownership (it happens)

So gorgeous.... though if I were going all out I'd probably step up to the 880s or 990s who knows...

I am gonna go for some Beyerdynamic DT770's, great cans, gonna cost me about 250 dollars

Then I found these. You can customize either DT 770, 880, or 990's. ****ING CRAZY! If I like these DT770's enough, im gonna sell em on craigslist, and order these custom bitches.

If you wanna make your own, check out Beyerdynamic's Manufaktur site.

Yeah you know, thats what Ive heard. Ive also heard its not THAT bad, so, in my head I am expecting really bad amounts, so then when I get them, they wont be too bad at all.

But Id like to fix soemthing, I think if I like the 770's, i will get Manufaktur 880's or 990's. Something different, but still good stuff.

Post pics when you get yours inquisitor!

Tried to pull up the Manufaktur customizer, but it crashed with Chrome, Firefox, and IE with the latest flash installed. It would load to 100% then crash every time.

Very cool, but not sure if I want to pay 350 euros for a pair of 880's. I can get them here in Canada for $250....
