Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else love the idea of custom designing your phones? Before I decided on picking up a pair of 770-80's I had messed around on Beyerdynamic's Manufaktur site and it made quite an impression on me. Now I know style is really the last thing you or I really care about when we're talking phones. It's all about the sound. But if I like the 770's as much as I think I will... its like icing on the cake to make the sound that you love look how you want them to. So in case anyone is interested in checking out the way I'd design my phones if had the 302.5 Euros. Here's how I set them up:
-32ohms (portable non-amp friendly... if I had a portable amp I'd hit the 250s)
-Straight Cable (because I don't know how I'd like the curled cable... hmm curled might be better)
-Walnut Burl finish housing
-Piano Lacquer Black Mounting
-Walnut Burl End Piece
-Leather Black Headband
-Velours Black Ear Pad
-Matt Black Yoke
-Matt Black Aluring
-Customization would be my name, in case anyone tried to jack them I could prove ownership (it happens)
So gorgeous.... though if I were going all out I'd probably step up to the 880s or 990s who knows...

But yes its awesome how you can sorta have your own designer headphones!
I use Beyer's and ive been wanting my own Manufaktur pair for awhile now. Just cant justify the buy to own something that will sound the same lol.
