Ryan Adams Live at Das Haus on 2006-10-17 (October 17, 2006)
Source: 16bit: Soundboard > Edirol R-09
Lineage: Master WAV > Digital Editing > CD Wave Editor V1.94.7 > FLAC V1.1.2

(a public domain archive.org download)

...

P.S.A.: This is NOT BRYAN ADAMS, the 80's romance rock guy. This is RYAN ADAMS the former front man for the alt-country act, "Whiskeytown" and the current mastermind of his latest band, "Ryan Adams and the Cardinals" !! The two performers could not be any more diametrically opposed than they are!

...

I just stumbled upon this unusually fine sounding and uber lovely set of Ryan Adams solo recordings from one of his past shows in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

These .FLACs were recorded back in 2006 and are very high quality.

If your a fan of Ryan Adams ... and if you don't already have these exceptionally beautiful tracks in your repertoire ...

Then, by all means, see the following page to download them all in their freely available, open source glory:

...

Ryan Adams - Germany - 2006

...

(Be sure to download the .flac options)

Don't say I didn't tell you so ...

Here's some direct links to whet your appetite:

1. Freeway to the Canyon

2. Dear John

3. Blue Hotel

4. Why Do They Leave?

This is better than tape ...

And perfectly legal.

Get it while you can.

Taping is often perfectly legal, and it's still taping, even if you record to hard drive

Well the great part about the above set of .flacs ... is that they sound DIVINE on even the most resolving of gear ...

And that's something that doesn't happen often in the world of soundboard bootlegs ...

But like Songs Ohia/Magnolia Electric Co ... Mr. Adams has a pretty passionate production crew who are as meticulous as they can be in recording/publishing their live recordings.

My hats off to them in a major way.

Take THAT, f'ing Metallica!

No ... didn't release it as a "Pay For" live album ...

But they did release it as a "FREE!" .FLAC downloadable album at the archive.org website ...

(even better)

Yeah ... it's become a reference set of demo tracks for me ... especially "Blue Hotel", which is just unbelievable ...

...

BTW folks ...

This IS NOT BRYAN ADAMS, of 80's fame!

Several folk have commented to me regarding this ...

This is RYAN ADAMS of Ryan Adams and the Cardinal's fame ...

Former front man for the alt-country act, "Whiskytown" ... and since then ... known for being one of the finest solo singer/songwriters currently working ...

He also had a mad drug/alcohol problem but sobered up ... thus all the comments regarding coffee and caffiene in the above show's 'tween song banter ...

He (and his amazing band) is a songwriting legend in his own time if you ask me ...

Such delicate and heartfelt and tragic bits ... also lots of hope/joy in his works ... but the predominate vibe is lovely tragedy ...

Enjoy and do buy his officially released/record store bits ... the only album I haven't really liked is, "Rock and Roll", which I think was a sort of transitional bit ... where he was trying more for the rock vibe than the indie/songwriter vibe ... it's good but doesn't have the charm/magic of other releases like "Easy Tiger" ...

Best.

Listening to 'Blue Hotel' now. You're right... It's stunning.

'Rock and Roll' wasn't only a bad Ryan Adam's album, it was one of the worst pieces of trash that I ever spent my hard earned money on. I think he was very deep in a drugged/drunken stuper when he made that crap.

Otherwise I love him and Whiskeytown.

I so agree!

I even deleted the ripped .flacs from my hard drive.

Although the disc still sits in my collection, for posterity if nothing else.

Best.
