Sachu: Thank you. That is very good to hear. Can you also maybe add how they both sound with the amp?

Also, I for got to mention. DefectiveAudioComponent, the reason I called the HD580 thin is because the sounded so only out of my Heed Canamp. Otherwise, out of my ASL they do not sound thin at all.
By Budget I mean < $300. Or "bank for your buck" at any low price point.
I am guessing the Little Dot MK III? ($250 shipped)
I can get the Darkvoice 336SE for $350 shipped, is it $100 better than the Little Dot?

So which amp should I buy? The main amps I am thinking of now are the Woo WA3, CKKIII, Darkvoice 336, 3322, or the Musical Fidelity XCAN V3 or the V2. Also which one or ones would be better than my ASL mg-head mkIII the most. Again I will mainly be using a pair of Sennheiser HD580s but will also be using AKG K701s.
Also, I for got to mention. DefectiveAudioComponent, the reason I called the HD580 thin is because the sounded so only out of my Heed Canamp. Otherwise, out of my ASL they do not sound thin at all. |

Hello, I don't want to hijack this thread, but what would be the best *budget* amp for the HD580?
By Budget I mean < $300. Or "bank for your buck" at any low price point.

That's pretty much how I felt the first time I heard my 580's on the Little Dot MK III. Just so much better than my $200ish MisterX built PIMETA. I finally understood the "veil" folks talk about w/ the Senns. I'm just wondering how much better the MK IV SE would sound. Would it be as big a jump? Also, given how I feel about the PIMETA vs LIttle Dot, I should probably stick w/ tubes, no? Also, is there another option that might be better?
Thanks!!!!!
EDIT: FWIW, I listen to trance, pop, rock, classical mostly. Currently listening to Florence + the machine, but I've got Britney, Tom Petty, Vanessa Mae, Daft Punk, Dave Matthews Band, Infected Mushroom, Johnny Cash, Oakenfold, Van Buuren, Onerepublic, and Lifehouse on here too. :D
