When you cant go to bed and you stay up to hear just one more song for 4 hours.

When you cut the hair around your ears so your headphones fit better and sound better.

When you spend $40 per unit or more on little brass cones to put under your audio componants and swear they sound better than the $8.00 brass cones.

Never hearing a song through because you play the same 4 seconds over and over because you think you hear something.

When you add a dedicated AC line to your audio room.

Having an audio room.

Toeing-in your speakers and moving them microns at a time for hours until they image right.

Traveling many miles just to hear another piece of audio equipment.

Worshiping Skylab and his reviews

Knowing who Kirosia is, or Patrick82

Not feeling sick seeing a picture of Nikongod cuddling with headphones naked.

Arguing that Bose and Ipod Earbuds arent high end products.

((Just being funny....nothing at all against anyone above ))

This is so bad - I do at least half of the things posted here.

I'll add/enhance a few:

-Physically wince or grimace every time you see someone using the included earbuds or SkullCandy garbage

-Have trouble not laughing when walking by headphone/earbud displays in Best Buy, or as mentioned, Bose

-Have to move headphones out of the way while at your desk to get at another pair

-You pick up headphones with a 3.5mm jack and go "what . . . ?"

Cringe and think of your lacking bank account and sweat trying to figure out how to get that newly announced pair of Senn HD-800s so you can get every last bit of detail and bass response out of the new tube amp that you are waiting to be hand built.

...when you hear a friend raving about their new Skullcandy's and think, "if only you knew."

It's tough to have a conversation with "normal" people about headphones without sounding like a stuck up ******.

I'd say that makes you gullible or proof of a great imagination, not necessarily someone who cares about sound quality.

1-----When your looking at coffie tables and end tables you wonder how your equipment might look on them.
2-----When moving into a new house you bring your audio belongings first and set everything up before anything.
3-----You know you can not get your Accord to go as fast as a $100K sportscar but can get your $5K system to sound like $100K if you get just the right pieces and tweek it just right.

....When people in the train have to poke you to get through or to get your attention.
....when you just ignore people that talk to you and just keep walking and listening.
....When you notice someone with an Ipod and Bose HPs, and you kind of turn sideways so they can notice your Beyerdynamics' profile.
....when you look at your reflection on a glass and you look like Cybermen from Dr Who.
