At most it costs them $2.02 to make them, so they should be happy if they can get anything more than $4.04 per pair! In 6 months time, they will be down to $10, or maybe even $8. Mark my words.

Note to oneself: "Mark his words, and then don't forget where I marked them"!

Actually, these would go quite nicely with the headphones. It could be called the "800/800" Package. Which, as everyone knows, 800 ÷ 800 = the #1

Gear mentioned in this thread:

Ehh, I'm just messing with you. There really isn't much else to do with HD800 threads, except to react in silly ways to whatever everyone else is saying. It's not like we have a pair of headphones that we can listen to or anything fun like that! I'm trying to be quietly optimistic that they'll sound as fantastic to me as they seem to sound to others. But I'm not particularly good at being quiet.

I'll send you a pair. I'm not kidding. What's that address again? Send it to me via PM. They would look cool on your mountain bike, once the winter breaks. I'll get a discount if I order more than one pair. That's my excuse.

Edit! Ouch! The discount only applies if I order 10 pairs or more, and I don't think I want to get into an HD800 group buy to see if we can source them at a lower price. Although that would make for a fun thread! Plus, if you click again you'll see that the blue pair is actually the HD801. Is that what you want, or do you want to be more authentic and true to the cause? If so, the HD800 are of the burnt orange variety.

Geez! People weren't kidding when they said we were running out of things to talk about in this thread...

As you have seen Wmcmanus, neither am I. At least you gave me a good laugh.

Two conditions! One is that you've gotta go for the (orange) HD800. We need to be authentic on this deal. Two is that you have to show up at the national meet and wear them with your (other) HD800, or at least send us a streaming video if you can't make the meet.

Orange is excellent for taking out the shadows when mountain biking in the woods.

Deal-ieo!

Ok, ok -- I've got something; is it true the HD800s sound better than this six million dollar sound system?

and here I thought the first response would be something like, "whoa!!!"...

but seriously, besides its price, how is it stupid? I doubt if someone offered to build something like this for you in your house, you'd tell them, "nah, that's stupid."

am I right?

I can't answer for nor_spoon, but I know I certainly would. It's overkill to the nth degree and I wouldn't be able to afford the electric bill.

The reason your first response wasn't "whoa!" is because we are a community of enthusiasts here, thus the fact that this was posted ages ago, the discussion has been had, and it's been there done that. If you had been introducing something new that we were unaware of, I imagine you would have received the type of response you were looking for.

I say whoa! to the album collection.
